The official flag of the Syracusan National Republic
Sambro Kerman's current government of Syracuse is known to be one of near to complete authoritarianism. During their last election, Sambro Kerman received 99% of the votes, a feat considered statistically impossible due to the vast size and populous of the nation. Many state the way they were able to achieve this was through artificial votes, but this can not be confirmed due to the tight security regarding Syracusan secrets.
The National Syracusan Republic has, in recent years, seemed to be clamping down on many civil rights that the civilians of the nation once seemed to have. One of the most important, the freedom of speech, was one of the main pillars promised by Tejas Kerman, the leader of the Orange War (2005) during their revolution that occured to break free of Kerbelia.
The once dominant Orange and Yellow Party of Syracuse, has in recent months, taken initiative in accordance with high level leaders to declare a "de facto" national crisis. This declaration, not being officially recognised by the current ruling party of Syracuse, the National Party of Democracy, has made its way throughout the population through flyers. The main supplier of these fliers and propaganda material is the Vorzun Committee For Peace ( VCFP ), currently led by the Kerbelian Representative Bob Kerman.
After these flyers were sent out, a letter was also sent out through the use of postal instalations. The letter basically called for national reform. As of recently (FEB 27, 2034), the flyers have been reported to have reached far and wide. Trends also show a spark of anger among the Syracusan populous, with many answering internationally ran polls, stating they want change in the government for good.
Only time can tell how this situation will evolve. Only one thing is certain - the near-dictatorship of the Syracusan National Republic has lit a spark of distrust and resentment within the commoners of the nation, who make up more than 90% of its nation. Hopefully we don't end up in an armed conflict faught between brothers, just like what happened many, many years ago.
